Paper beats rock... again.

I am preparing for a vacation in Indonesia. Me and my wife have agreed that such a vacation is long overdue, we will have good company, lodging problems were sorted out before they even appeared, and even tickets were bought with relative ease. But it's always a good idea to know something about the places you are going to visit, right? So we decided we needed a travel guide...

As you have probably guessed we decided to get us a Lonely Planet guide, as it is the easiest to get in China. The next logical question was: Will it be paper ($33, delivered in 4 days, 1 kilo, 908 pages) or electronic (delivered via iTunes app store, installable on our iPhones, less than 0.2 kilos including the device, number of pages unknown). I would like to get an electronic version as it would be (presumably) cheaper and lighter, so I went to the app store. Search for "Lonely Planet Indonesia" turned out precisely zero results. Ok, I thought, we'll get one for Bali only. Guess what... Zero results again. At this point I gave in and just purchased the paper one. Looks like paper still beats the stone here, even if the stone is just a piece of silicon inside the mobile chip.
