Heroes of our times

You know it's fun to read BBC news. Every day they will prove that we're as far from eradicating stupidity as we ever were. There were reports of job adverts not published for being 'discriminating' against unreliable people, for example. But what caught my attention today was this piece of... well, news. They make an opera out of life and death of the great hero of our time - a model from Playboy. Well, to all the times their own heroes, but I see this as something wrong on the deepest level. Glorifying someone, whose main talent was having her naked pictures printed in the men's magazine? For me it's one of the symbols of everything that's wrong with this world...

Taming the iPhone — It's all about networks!

It was quite a long time without blogging. Having to work does that to you sometimes… Anyway, during that time I had updated my phone to the 3.1.3 firmware and lost my jailbreak in the process. It would not be a big problem was it not for the fact that I somehow lost tethering in the process.

You can see on the 'Net that legally unlocked iPhone is supposed to have tethering. Now if only someone could explain this to my phone… Nothing helped to restore it to this date, so if you value your jailbreak and tethering do not upgrade!

Another side effect of all that was that my phone now forgets to start the connection when needed. Usually it happens while setting up some account like mail or blog. The only workaround I found was to set it up anyway and let it fail — and restart application after that. It works like a charm then!
