You know, that RSS addiction will be my undoing. I ran across this article:
Latvia election may lead to poll success for pro-Russia party.
It seems strange for me that the same paper that would be frothing at the mouth about some negro being deported from the UK to, say, Ghana – because, you see, he may be beaten up by the Ghana police – the same paper would say nothing about 30% of EU country's population being not allowed to take part in the election because of their nationality. Yes, they're considered evil just because they're Russians, who were born in Latvia. They have no citizenship – because they're Russians. It is very hard for them to be elected to any position – because they're Russians. And you know the funny thing here? I think that they're NOT pro-Russia (or they'd move to Russia long time ago). They're pro-Russian party, who want the Russians in Latvia to have the same rights as the Latvians have. They just want to be Latvian citizens, with all the rights and all the responsibilities. But obviously all that stuff about tolerance and multi-culturalism and those pesky human rights can't be applied to Russians – we are the remnants of the Evil Empire, after all...
