I need a vacation…

With all the increases in my workload there's not enough time to blog about it. Well, that's actually may be good — less of totally random rants is a good thing, after all.

When I came to Ningbo last June, I had seven factories to supervise. Oh, and some of these would need my attention only once in two or three months. Surely there were some quality problems but that's part of Chinese way of doing business, so it's OK.

Now I said my goodbyes to one of the original factories (we ended cooperation with them to the relief of both parties involved) and switched to the factory ran by younger brother of the owner of the first one. Yep, it's China for you. At the same time I've got one more factory to play with. No big deal still… or so I thought.

It was apparently the start of an avalanche. Within two months our supplies department decided we need three more suppliers. Now I have my apartment invaded by samples and my brain picked by every single person in the head office (except the boss… and I'm not so sure about that peroxide girl at the reception). Also the factories are all scattered throughout China so accents and dialects range from baffling to bewildering.

Oh, and on top of this there are experts from Ukraine coming to eat away what's left of my brains. I definitely need that vacation badly. Or better yet, I'd like myself a nice cozy Fiji citizenship…
